Partners

We believe underage drinking is a community problem and requires a community solution. Below are the private and public organizations that have partnered with MostDont.org in the effort to eliminate underage drinking in Tooele. We invite all businesses, organizations, and community leaders to join the MostDont.org initiative to solve this community problem.

PRIVATE

MOTHERS AGAINST DRUNK DRIVING (MADD)

MADD has greatly expanded its Utah campaign to prevent underage drinking and emerging research underscores their joint efforts to prevent youth alcohol consumption. MADD's continuous work in this area is encouraged and supported by local government, corporations, educators, the media and the general public. MADD's mission statement was officially changed to make preventing underage drinking a free-standing prong of the mission. MADD continues to help MostDont through their countless efforts on underage drinking fronts.

UTAH PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION (PTA)

Utah PTA is a non-profit grassroots child advocacy organization made up of parents, teachers, and, at the secondary school level, students. Utah PTA is an affiliate of National PTA and is organized in Utah at local, council, and state levels. The mission of Utah PTA is stated as follows:

Utah PTA will help every child realize his full potential and will:

Advocate: Support and speak on behalf of children and youth, and
Involve: Encourage positive involvement in all facets of a child’s life, and
Develop: Assist in developing skills to raise and protect children and youth.

Utah PTA accomplishes its mission by focusing on a child’s growth and development, providing programs and training for leadership, individuals, and family members in seven areas of focus directly affecting the lives of children: community involvement, education, family life, health, individual development, safety and welfare, and student involvement.

PARENTSEMPOWERED.ORG

ParentsEmpowered.org is a Utah based, statewide, initiative to eliminate underage drinking in Utah. Community officials, parents, business leaders, and youth supporters are committed to eliminate underage drinking in Utah. ParentsEmpowered.org is a proud partner of Tooele's effort to curb underage drinking.

PUBLIC

TOOELE LAW ENFORCEMENT

Tooele's Police Department is in full support of the mission and goals of MostDont.org. Through press events and law enforcement activities, they work to provide a safer Tooele County community. Underage drinking is against the law. Tooele Police believe that through parental influence and community support, underage drinking can be eliminated.

THE DEPARTMENT OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE CONTROL

Utah's DABC is a proud sponsor of the MostDont effort. They believe Tooele's response to the social need for an alcohol prevention initiative is a direct result of the states, responsible nature concerning alcohol sales. The DABC is an active partner, helping to eliminate underage drinking in Tooele.

TOOELE VALLEY MENTAL HELALTH

Tooele Valley Mental Health provides prevention and education services and programs based on the Risk and Protective Factor model, and best practices developed by the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention. We aim to identify risks for substance abuse and violence and develop resiliency through healthy life skills. Our prevention programs address specific needs of communities through school- and family- based approaches.

UTAH DIVISON OF SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND MENTAL HEALTH

The Utah Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health are key players in Tooele's plan to eliminate underage drinking. The Utah Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health is the state agency responsible for ensuring that prevention and treatment services for substance abuse and mental health are available statewide. If you, a friend, or family member is struggling with a mental health problem or a problem with alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs, there is help available. Hope and recovery are possible.

UTAH STATE OFFICE OF EDUCATION - SAFE AND DRUG-FREE SCHOOLS

The mission of the Utah State Office of Education/Safe and Drug-Free Schools is to give students a strong foundation of effective violence and substance abuse prevention skills.
